No serious wolf hunter hunts wolves with wolfhounds. If you’re serious, you use traps and snares.
The old leghold traps (shown) could be a horror, but modern traps are quite different. Every radio-collared wolf alive today has been caught without harm in a leghold trap, and will be caught a dozen times or more over its life as batteries are switched out.
