The hits keep on coming for the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).
On Friday, the CEO of the Humane Society stepped down under a staff revolt over sexual harassment and favoritism charges, and my guess is that HSUS VP Paul Shapiro might me next.
On Sunday, this ad was played during the Super Bowl Game.
I am not a fan of the Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) which ran this ad; they were started by a liar-for-hire astro-turf lobbyist as I detail here.
That said, even a blind pig may eventually find an acorn, and this ad actually has the right message, which is to give locally and do not give to any of the national direct mail mill "humane" groups, such as the Humane Society of the U.S,. PETA, or the ASPCA.

Is the ASPCA any better? I've heard many claims that the RSPCA in Australia does more for themselves than for the animals they nominally serve. And hear tell, there are some rotten local 'rescue' organizations. The dog world is so divided and opinionated it requires some critical thinking to know who is doing good.
