Sow the Wind

Donald Trump Jr.
blames the GOP Congressional whip’s shooting on a Shakespeare production, not on guns, or lack of affordable mental health care, or the culture of fear that his father has fomented.

Right. Whatever.

One thing is certain: the GOP just got WOKE UP to the rising power of liberals with guns.

You want to take away affordable health care for all Americans? You want to take away our right and opportunity to vote? You want to keep your children at home and openly not pay taxes, but launch us into pointless wars where the poor will die and everyone else will pay?  You want to pull out of NATO and cozy up to the murderous Vladimir Putin?

You want to wink at bankster fraud but criminalize pot use? You want to cut Medicaid for our oldest, sickest, and poorest in order to give billionaires a tax break?

You want to devastate the environment while cheering on hate-spewing racists?  You want to sell off public lands and limit access to family planning?

Yeah, we listened to all that "guns are great" stuff, and we think you had a very good point.  You are totally right; there is a very good Liberal Case for Gun Ownership.

So now we are locked and loaded. We are ready.

Welcome to Virginia, which is a right to open carry state, and where our motto is Sic semper tyrannis -- "Thus always I bring death to tyrants."

Don't say you didn't ask for this.  Don't say you weren't warned. Don't say you cared a whit when other Americans were gunned down for simply being gay, or immigrant, or black, or women, or in the way, or simply standing on a street corner.

Sow the wind; reap the whirlwind.

Welcome to the Resistance.

I thought open carry laws were supposed to be a deterrent against bad guys with a gun from performing bad acts.....

Perhaps this theory is as good as the economic theory tested in Kansas

The theory that open carry is a deterrent to crime really only works with rational bad guys (ones who will think and care about about the consequences to themselves), not so much with irrational bad guys with guns (the bad guys that are making all the headlines).

Wheelocks and matchlocks showed up well before Shakespeare. Actually Trump is more like Crassus, the richest Roman at the end of the Republic. However, wealth definitely "Trumps" literary and military accomplishments.
