I'm So Old I Remember...

I'm So Old I Remember... smoking on airplanes.

I'm So Old I Remember... when dogs had balls.

I'm So Old I Remember... percolator coffee.

I'm So Old I Remember... long-playing records and 45s.

I'm So Old I Remember... when you paid with paper money and coins

I'm So Old I Remember... the Dewey Decimal system and card catalogs.

I'm So Old I Remember... 8-track was the new technology.

I'm So Old I Remember... when gasoline had lead in it.

I'm So Old I Remember...when companies paid taxes and workers had defined benefit pensions.

I'm So Old I Remember... when you were never asked to "push one" for English.

I'm So Old I Remember... the Sears Catalog.

I'm So Old I Remember... home-delivered newspapers made from dead trees.

I'm So Old I Remember... when Pluto was a planet.

I'm So Old I Remember... Airline stewardess shoes were pretty, and passengers didn't wear sweatpants and flip-flops.

I'm So Old I Remember... you wound a watch.

I'm So Old I Remember... people did physical work and no one went to the gym.

I'm So Old I Remember... when kids played outside.

I'm so old I remember when a bottle (not a can) of Coke was a nickel.

I'm so old I remember when Italian food was Chef Boy-Ar-De, Chinese food was Chung King, and both came in a can.

I'm so old I remember going to a double-feature matinee, and getting a Coke, a popcorn and a candy bar, all for 50 cents.

I'm so old I remember when truck drivers were called "The Knights of the Highway."

I'm so old I remember when parents used to kick you and the dog out of the house to go play in the morning, and let you back in at suppertime. And there were no questions asked unless you got ratted out by a neighbor.

I am so old I remember drinking at the bar at 18. If you were old enough to get your nuts shot off in Vietnam you were old enough to drink...

I am so old that money was silver.

...a town of 5 thousand did not have a fast food franchise.
... revival meetings in tents were a regular thing.
... Dairy Queen was closed 5 months a year and walk up only.
... eight 8 year olds could be seen riding in the back of a pickup truck.
... there was a lottery for a whitetail deer tag.
... people rubbed baby oil on themselves while sunbathing so they would burn quicker.
... you only prepared your own dog food if you were really *that* poor.

During summer it was safe to go camp with other 9-12yo kids for a couple days.
