FREE Books, Books, Books

In the sidebar to this blog, I've loaded up links to a number of old books which are now available, online, as either PDFs, flip books or text. In most case, the link will take you to examples of all three versions.

Book are arranged, rather roughly by type, and chronologically within type. If a book is out of chronological order, it means that the print version is a later print version of an earlier text.

"Rock of ages cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee".

This is an outstanding source of historic information. In an age where country traditions are under threat from all angles, it is wonderful to have access to all this. Keep it up Patrick. This site is well on its way to becoming my favourite library.

Thanks Patrick! The Coursing and Falconry title is as close as I'll come to owning an original...

Great stuff!

The Hutchinson book (Dog Breaking) is one of my favorites and an old standard with some of my early mentors. Don't let the politically incorrect title fool you, he is tougher on the handler then he is on the dog :-)

Thanks Patrick

I chuckled when I read this description of the Bedlington Terrier in a book from 1913. Nowadays the breed is considered one of the most complex and time-consuming to groom to 'show standards'. How times have changed!

This also was an interesting comment by the book author. It's more true nowadays then it was back then!
