The Last Wish of the Anatomy Professor



When Osteology Professor Gordon S. "Grover" Krantz died, he wanted his skeleton, and that of his beloved Irish Wolf Hound, Clyde, put on public display.

Against all probability, it has been done, and the full story is up at The Washington Post. And yes, both dog and man are smiling.

But he was a very careful scholar in primate and human anatomy and physical anthropology.

And he loved that dog.

I worked for the publishing company in Boulder, Colo., that published his physical anthropology book on Bigfoot.

Between that and the Kennewick Man controversy, he stepped on a few toes, but he illustrated the principle of "Get tenure and then do what you want."
