What's a plastic laundry basket doing 40 feet in the air, and how did it get there? It appears to be wired in.
It's a short distance from an owl nesting hole, and I initially thought it might be an old remote camera set up, but then I remembered that last year a baby owl had been found at the base of the tree by a friend. He took the young owl to a re-habber, and I bet they placed the baby in the basket to be cared for by its nearby parents. That would also explain the branch-stick wired to the top; it’s a perch for the parent.
