I found where to put in the kayaks on the Shenandoah, near Harpers Ferry. No shortage of freshwater clams & mussels in the river — a positive sign in terms of water quality. This is where the Shenandoah meets the Potomac — a spot Thomas Jefferson said was worth crossing the Atlantic to see.
