Information on working terriers, dogs, natural history, hunting, and the environment, with occasional political commentary as I see fit. This web log is associated with the Terrierman.com web site.
A dog's head was not meant to be held in an upright position as these carriers imply. That actually bends the spine at a 90-degree angle that further places pressure on the already-compressed pharyngeal tissues.
So sure, if you want to take everywhere your dog that can't breathe normally to begin with, do it with something that'll make life even HARDER for it.
Or maybe just get an athletic, mesiocephalic dog in the first place, but good luck saying this to the people who think that hypoxia, bug-eyes and struggling to breathe is SOOO KYOOT.

Someone should let those people know if they got a dog with a proper snout and normal legs, it could walk or run alongside them!
And making the breathing worse, to boot.
