Have you noticed that despite the ubiquitous presence of high-quality camera phones with video and even zoom features, we still have no pictures of space aliens, Big Foot, the Loch Ness Monster, or red fox killing sheep?
What we do have, however, is a hell of a lot of documented police brutality?
We have cops killing unarmed black men selling loose cigarettes, police killing black kids playing in parks, officers shooting unarmed black men in their cars, shooting them in the back, putting dogs on them when they are on their knees and offering no resistance.
We have police pushing down non-resisting 90-year old grandmothers in their front yards, pushing over old men with canes, macing small children, and intentionally shooting pepper-balls and rubber bullets at TV camera crews and reporters.
And yes, we have a few instances of cops taking a knee, marching with protestors, and listening rather than shooting. Different police departments have different cultures. How dysfunctional is your police department? Your Sherriff? Your District Attorney? Your Mayor?
Vote out any and every official that does not prioritize black lives this November. Every. Fucking. One.
And if you have video of a fox killing a sheep, please send it along. Been asking for years and still the order remains unfilled.
