Carl Swizter played the role of Alfalfa in the "Our Gang" film shorts of the 1930s.
In adulthood, he was a dog breeder and a hunting guide.
He was killed in a crazy dispute in which Switzer lost a client’s dog, paid a reward to have the dog returned to him, and then demanded the client pay the reward, showing up at his house and brandishing a knife. Switzer was shot in what appears to be a legitimate case of self-defense,.
