This undertaker of America’s forests and fields was seen doing a little roadside disassembly yesterday.
There’s less roadkill in the U.K. because they have less wildlife. That said, they have no vultures or coyotes to do clean up after vehicle impacts. So what does that work over there? Mostly fox and carrion crows.
I would love to see a reverse demographics piece based on the number of vultures seen in the sky. How many pounds of dead flesh does it take to keep a vulture flying for a week or a month?

One of the many joys of living in Texas is the numbers of vultures and other clean-up birds that we see daily. It's become a habit of mine that, if I come across a road-killed critter while driving, I stop and drag it well off the pavement for these beautiful and useful birds to find.
