Rowing Hazards

Swans are removed from a stretch of the River Thames near Henley to make way for the annual regatta in June of 1900.

In my day, when I rowed on the Potomac in the 1970s, we had to watch for floating trees, sofa seat cushions, and dead cats. A human body was once pulled out, but I was not at the boat house that day.
