Dear Patrick, When I was a kid in the 50's, Butte Montana had a lot of dogs and as many drinkers. One such combo, Skip and his owner Bill, would appear every afternoon at the Alibi Inn where someone would invariably buy Skip a nickle beer and, as a courtesy, the same to his owner. Skip was rarely without a pipe in his mouth.
