Interesting. The regular battle rifle for many european soldiers is .308 nato FN/FAL which while very rugged is very heavy. I can see the utility of subs and lighter rifles like the AR and Ruger in this situation but these rounds are useless in stopping terrorist vehicles unless the driver is hit, whereas the FN/FAL .308 round would penetrate an engine block at a good distance. Perhaps the FN is kept in a handy vehicle?
