A New Critter Box

I slammed together a new squirrel/ critter box for pup training yesterday, as the old squirrel box has gone the way of all things. This loads from the back and lines up perfectly with the Hav-a-hart trap (9-inch sides).  The back panel rotates on one corner screw, and is held firmly in place by a second screw.  Welded fox mesh keeps the squirrel in, and thick wooden bars at the end of the practice tunnel keep the dogs back from the mesh. The box is the same size as the wooden go-to-ground liner. The handle makes the thing easy to lift and place in a fork of the tree for the "bolt" part of the training exercise. "No animals were harmed in the making of this movie."

My dogs have eaten two Hav-a-Hart cages. The smell of the creature (long released) makes them crazy and they literally dismantle the cage by biting and not letting go. Bloody gums- pissed off wife...
