This awesome picture is from Terence Stephen Wright and makes it all look easy and poetic.
In fact, there are four very different species involved in this hunt, and the only thing that makes it work and look like this, is good training, a little luck, and a lot of experience in the field.
I think Stephen should be writing very simple children's books about hunting, with pictures of dogs and birds. The true story of the rescue prairie falcon, Fubar, would win a Newberry Award before the ink was dry!

This is the classic example as to how falconers and falconry techniques are beneficial to raptors. Fubar is very lucky to have a falconer to take care of her and teach her to hunt.
