Fastest Bird Meets Fast Food
The fastest bird in the world, the peregrine falcon, catches up with a Willet at the shore. If you thought that was a woodcock, you are not alone! .
Peregrines do dearly love to eat Woodcocks, but this unfortunate shorebird is a Willet, photo captured by Will James Sooter, and a top winner in Audubon Magazine's 2010 photo contest.
Ah! Well that explains the background -- it's the shore, not the forest. A bit embarrassing, as I used to work for National Audubon! Will correct title. THANKS!
