Smile for the Camera

This is a Goliath Tigerfish caught by Jermey Wade in the Congo River while filming his show "River Monsters."

Goliath Tigerfish are every bit as dangerous as they look. Says Wade: "If you aren't careful it could easily take your finger off or worse."

Yeah, I don`t think losing a finger was my first concern when I saw this photo. In fact, the loss of a finger after an encounter with one of these creatures on its own turf would be the least of my worries. No one dies from losing a finger...

Very impressive predator, indeed.

I agree with the "or worse" assessment. Geezus...what a beast!

btw, Seahorse, I looked into both Roberts and Parelli - I'm still not 100% convinced Parelli doesn't know what he's talking about, although it's obvious that the majority of his work is flashier than effective. I can appreciate though, his intense insistence on building a relationship. I can't speak for the effectiveness of his "games" but I think that if more people spent time training their horses to play and to trust and to take direction from the ground, they would have more well-rounded horses. Simply my opinion, admittedly.

Roberts, on the other hand, is quite obviously a charlatan at best. Thanks for the lesson - he's obviously skilled at keeping these things under the radar. What blew me away was just how many people on HORSE boards and blogs still believe the sun shines out of his arse.

I'm always grateful when someone can teach me something new, so thank you!
