Of all the bands to see on your blog, this is one I least expected.

They put on one heck of a concert: they're all darn GOOD at what they do (well, I DO have a limit on the vocals, they can get a bit grating), and their keyboardist is lurvely eye candy :D

I am nothing if not eclectic. If you can play or sing your ass off, as these boys can, I will give you full props.

Full on head-banging metal is a bit much for me, but I cut my teeth on Steppenwolf for whom the Heavy Metal genre is actually named ("heavy metal thunder, out along the highway, looking for adventure, whatever comes my way, born to be wiiiiild...").

Well by their looks they would be a hair band but after hearing the vocalist I think they would be in the catagory of death metal.
No hippies here, the attire has it's roots in hippy but the philosphy is way different; no peace and love only pain and death in a self conscience way.

They're considered "Melodic death metal" :) Don't know many bands of that sort who are all about the rainbows and kittens and bunnies.

Seems a lot of the good metal-type bands these days all have a keyboardist too and/or co-ordinate somehow with a major symphony.

Look into the origin of their name. At least one song on each album has to do with it, although I'm sure that's not the whole reason of why the band sounds like it does or goes with the themes they like.
