Best. Icicles. Ever.

A gargoyle with a little something extra.

Originally the name gargoyle came from the French word for gargle. This is because they were a kind of water spout for cathedrals. (Art History nerd)

I haven't ever been lucky enough to see 'authentic' or old world gargoyles during freezing weather, but I wonder if it may not be unusual for them to get icicles like the ones pictured?

Either way, the photo is super cool!

The National Cathedral in D.C. has many wonderful gargoyles, including a poodle: http://www.stonecarver.com/jpeg/poodle.jpg.

I hate knowing things like this.... It takes up so much valuable cranial real estate.
