A total dumb a**, if you ask me. I've sat through enough Democratic Party functions where he was the speaker. I wasn't so sure he had anything like political intelligence, sort of like Bill Richardson. Normally, I can see these things, but I was fooled by John Edwards. I was for Edwards before Obama.
Who would be challenging him in the primary? Virginia has elections this year, so it's very likely that McAuliffe will be able to raise heaps of money, as Virginia is now the new inroad state for the party. However, the Republican Party is in scorched earth mode, so they will probably nominate someone totally unelectable. I think the Lieutenant Governor of Virginia (who was raised in a very Republican part of West Virginia) is a possibility.
I don't know who is opposite, but they get a 15-point lead if this is the Democratic nominee. Terry McAuliffe will not sell in this state. I doubt if he will get the Democratic nomination.

Stultifying. I lost track of what he was saying because I was mesmerized by the weaving and bobbing head. Pity you if the guy wins, even if he is a Democrat. Give me Ahnold any day. At least he has an interesting accent.
BTW, I agree with you, Virginia is one of the best states in the union, which is now even better now that it is turning blue (except the anti-hunter, post materialist set could wind up getting too many concessions).
Isn't McAuliffe from Buffalo? He has a Great Lakes Accent (Erie) accent, but I can't remember if he's from Buffalo or some other area there. My guess is he won't play well in Grundy (if you know where that is).
