There are two kinds of speech writers in Washington: those who work for causes, and those who will say anything if the money is thick enough.

There are also two kinds of speech makers: Trained parrots who will say anything so so long as it feather-beds their own ambitions and pays well, and principled individauls who insist that if they say it they mean what they say and say what they mean.
