Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em

We last showed a picture of dog trainer Francis Metcalf's little dog, Schwartz, back in July of 2012. Schwartz is a found-on-the-street rescue who did the hat trick of not only staying alive and avoiding Animal Control, but who also ended up in the arms of one of the most entertaining dog trainers on the west coast. Check out his videos to know that last statement is true!

Since our last report, Schwartz has gone on to learn a lot of tricks from dancing on his front legs to walking on his front legs, to rope hoists, hoop jumping, tunnel runs, rolling balls and reels, stacking ring puzzles, playing dead, taking any offered money (he likes Big Bills, he cannot lie) which he places in his cash trunk, opening baskets, standing on Francis's upright feet, and ... the list goes on and on!

Of course every dog needs a few bad habits,  and Schwartz has recently taken up pipe smoking.

Not tobacco. Whatever is in that thing, Schwartz says he has a prescription and it's medicinal. For his nerves.

Right.  Like I'm going to start believing a talking dog again!

I regret to inform you that those competitive cats, determined to win even when minor sins are involved, now have available to them wine-based and martini-flavored cat treats. I saw them myself in the Big Box Store nearest me.

But I didn't buy any. Catnip is plenty enough indulgence for my cats.
