IT’S A DEPRESSING TIME. We are led by liars. thieves, and cheats. Ignorance is saluted and facts are disregarded.
The US government has declared war on science, war on medicine, and war on the Library of Congress.
Our universities and museums are being blackmailed and threatened, while books are being banned and burned.
And yet.
And yet, the greatest library and question-and-answer service in the history of the world is in your pocket, and it’s free.
One of the most powerful services ever created remains public-sourced and publicly owned and operated.
I write you now, on my own accord, and with urging from no one, to light a candle against the darkness by making a one time contribution — in any amount — to the work of Wikipedia.
A single candle can slay a great deal of darkness. Wikipedia has slain more darkness — and answered more questions — than any other institution or person in your life.
It’s time to pass it on.
If you’re looking for a way to serve, a way to move forward, a way to fight against the dying of the light, this is one way.
If you are looking for someone to ask you to help, this is that ask.
If you are looking for sign, this sign is for you. ❤️💕
