Grateful for Ken Kesey

The late great Ken Kesey was born on this day
in 1935 in La Junta, Colorado. Best known for his novel “One Flew over The Cuckoo’s Nest,” it was his legendary Acid Test parties with the house band The Warlocks that launched the long psyehedelic-painted school bus trip in “Furthur” popularized in Tom Wolfe’s book, the Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. That bus was driven by the great Stewart Brand, and The Warlocks would later change their name to the Grateful Dead.
