In the first picture, President Kennedy and son, walk along a path at Camp David in Frederick County, Maryland.
Every President since the start of World War II has come to Frederick County, and so too have many world leaders, starting with Churchill.
Camp David is located 15 miles from my house, and like my house, Camp David is set on Catoctin Greenstone and surrounded by forest. Of course Camp David is surrounded by more forest — thousands of acres, rather than a few hundred. On the upside, my house is much closer to the “survival set” of good grocery stores, big box hardware stores, banks, coffee, pizza, and a very good library. Thurmont, the closest town to Camp David, is not much.
