Looking for Woodpecker and Owl Holes

Wandering around in the woods, neck up, is probably maladaptive, but it may pay off in the Spring. This hole is very high up, with obvious Pileated Woodpecker mortising higher up.

The powerful probability of critter use can be seen in the claw and wear marks around the hole. This tree den has been used for a couple of years is my guess. Owl or woodpecker probably, but it might be a raccoon. Located in a creek drainage, and marked on my digital phone map with the “Pinbox” app.
