Where Is This?

I have come across this picture several times. The first dozen times, it was captioned as a North American wolf-dog with native people, and I may have reposted it with that description myself. Then someone said it was Siberian. Really? Could be. What do I know? The picture is *awfully* grainy.

It turns out the *real* answer is even more interesting. This picture is from Manchuria and was taken in 1939 by Ivar Lissner, a German journalist, author, and Nazi spy, who ventured from his home in Germany to explore the lives of the “Reindeer People”.
