The British are going crazy over the notion of "rewilding" which, it turns out, is little more than mowing a little less, leaving a few strips of vegetation between fields, and perhaps rethinking the economics of sheep in a world where wool's value is so low it barely pays to ship it.
The above story in The Mirror is simply laughable.
America has bears, wolves, mountain lions, coyotes, alligators, pythons, eagles, lynx, bobcats…. and pretty much no one worries about their Corgis or their Jack Russells.
As for the UK, no one is talking about releasing bears or wolves. It's taken decades just to get a few beaver out into the wild.
So what's the big UK rewilding push these days? It's to "rewild" a few havest mice from Scotland to Ealing in West London.
