Scavenging the Dead of Antietam

Two Red-tail hawks were feeding on a possum at Antietam battlefield. They were very noisy and moved off to the trees when they saw me, then a large kettle of vultures showed up, circled overhead, but then moved off. I found out why soon enough — a dead cow in the field, one vulture already on it.
