We're Still Fighting for the Right to Vote

In July of 1921, Wisconsin Governor John Blaine signed an equal rights bill promising that “women shall have the same rights and privileges under the law as men.”

It was the first law of its kind to pass in any U.S. state, and women’s rights advocates far and wide celebrated its success.

It was not until the Voting Rights Act of 1965 that all Black men and women had the right to vote -- a right quickly being eroded today.
