John Jeanneney, Working Dachshund Man

Teddy Moritz just sent me a note saying that John Jeanneney died earlier this week.

Mr. Jeanneney was a wire-haired dachshund man who imported his first dog from Germany in 1965. He was an expert blood tracker of wounded deer and wrote several books about the subject, as well as founded Deer Search Inc. in New York.

In 2012, John was inducted into the New York State Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame, and he created the Born to Track web site where his books and blogs can be found, >> https://www.born-to-track.com/?

A graduate of Dartmouth (geology) and Columbia (history), he was a history professor at Hofstra for 31 years, and lived in Berne, New York.

Condolences to wife and fellow dachshund breeder and enthusiast, Jolanta.
