Moxie located a possum in a shallow den in deep cover. I hacked down the vegetation, popped in a hole, tailed out the possum, and released it up a tree.
Pretty standard stuff except that in the very thick vegetation I lost both dogs and could not hear them.
No worries.
After about 20 minutes, I knew they had found. I circled around, but could hear nothing. I sat down, calling every once in a while, but nothing. No worries. They’re on it.
After another 20 minutes Misto came down a hill. He had dirt on his nose. I asked him to show me where Moxie was to ground, and he turned around and paddled back up the hill, and I followed. I had to crawl on my hands and knees to get to the location, but Moxie was under the brush and baying. Perfect.
This was Misto’s first “come here, Timmy.” It’s a very useful trick that Mountain Girl used to excel at. Hope to see it repeated.

That is a useful trick to be sure. When my terrier mix was learning 'Go get' just for fun I added the name of my partner. We were both outside on opposite sides of the house. She raced around the corner and barked at him loudly walking him back to me. She was so animated he thought something horrible had happened. She was rewarded heavily and we made a game of it to spark her interest. It worked great and I added this into my commands as 'Go get [partner's name]' To this day it is one of the most useful ones I've taught. She takes this particular job very very seriously.
