Checking a Nest on the Fly
Checking on a Bald Eagle nest on the bike back to the car after kayaking. Nothing to be seen from the ground.
When viewing bird nests up in a tree. To prevent a scent trail for a easy meal for raccoons nighttime nest raiding. Walk far away from a different direction than you approached. Then circle and leave a scent trail at a different unoccupied tree. My raptor banding friends found out the hard way. Now they tin every tree they band bird in, or they leave in a completely different direction. Leaving additional scent at an unoccupied tree.
