You have obviously not met children raised by the French. Generally speaking quite the opposite of feral children I can assure you. Strange thing actually these American myths about the french. Another one is that imagined cowardice of their military. Very weird in the light of their military history.... Btw I am not french myself, and don't have any connection to that country.

And yes I was raised at least around the french in Algeria and Morocco. The teachers hit kids in schools.
