Great little SUV for the field. I had a red 2001, that I drove for 12 of its 14 years of life. Did everything I asked of it. Maintain the engine and have the discs checked frequently, and it will go a long time. I traded it in (seller got the worst of the deal) for 2015 Subaru Forester. Love an automatic gear they call x-drive. It's an extreme low gear for less than 18 MPH. Like the low-low gear of a big pickup. Perfect for steep pitches and rough roads/ground. You will like the performance of your Escape. -- TEC
