If you are an angry Republican who likes to call all taxes “theft” and all benefits “socialism,” I trust you will give your check to a local low-wage worker and reach down to pull yourself up by your own boon straps because you are a rugged individualist who “never got nothing from no one” (other than your Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Veteran’s Benefits and the entire economic support structure of the United States which, for 243 years, has included the systematic oppression of women and people of color).
