Eric Knight was the British-born author of “Lassie Come Home” who later became an American citizen.
Knight died in an airplane crash in what is now Suriname, and as a major in the United States Army Special Services.

While a US citizen, Knight wrote two of Frank Capra's “Why We Fight” series.
