DEBEN is getting out of the locator business, which means new folks will be using avalanche locator transmitters and receivers.
I’m still using the old Mark I knocker boxes and collars (the last of my tribe), but I may not be able to carry on with that if a collar or two more fails.
Bellman and Flint are said to have improved on their early entry with a reconfigured PIEPS transmitter, and I have heard good things about Barryvox Mammut. I have an old Ortovox system that I was gifted, but I think they are not made anymore.
My understanding is that all the avalanche locators run on the same frequency, which is different from the old Deben frequency.
