Photo Phakery or Just Weird People?
Strange pictures.
Who hunts raccoons and then drags the dead carcasses to stack them up in front of a photographer's fake painted background? But we see the same thing, below, with an otter and a team of Border Terriers.
Just looks like folks from the early days of photography who wanted a cabinet card (daguerreotype?) documenting their dogs’ hunting prowess. Early brag item. What am I missing?
Not unusual...rarely were portraits done outside only group gatherings. The Borders look retouched probably because they moved during the exposure. Love that they thought enough of their dog/s prowess to have a costly photo taken.

Might those be combination prints (using two negatives to create the positive)?
