Information on working terriers, dogs, natural history, hunting, and the environment, with occasional political commentary as I see fit. This web log is associated with the Terrierman.com web site.
Roger Ballen has photographed in South Africans for over 30 years. Some irony may be at work in his photographs. But, of course, he simply takes pictures. You supply the content. Do you think he had a message when he took this picture of F. de Bruin of the Orange Free State prison service who was one of the folks enforcing South Africa's apartheid system which proclaimed racial superiority? Or do you think the message was what he saw and what jumped into your mind?
The comment was aimed directly at your title, which is not the one Ballen provided. His pictures largely spoke for themselves if the viewer knows the context, although many of them have been converted into memes and tools of ridicule.

Thank goodness for impoverished white people. With minorities off the table, they're the only ones left we can ridicule.

Ballen didn’t title it. Blog posts come with titles. My blog, I can title it whatever I want. Move along.
