Information on working terriers, dogs, natural history, hunting, and the environment, with occasional political commentary as I see fit. This web log is associated with the Terrierman.com web site.
Speaking as a former animal control officer (crudely called "dog catcher"), I occasionally took a razzing from shelter attendants when I turned over dogs I had labeled MALE because they were humping other dogs. Usually they were poodles, often wet poodles (it was Portland, OR) so I had hesitated to do a "feel" test. Of course, a poodle will hump an umbrella, even a wet one.
