A Keen Sense of Smell?
If dogs have such a great sense of smell, why do they have to get right up on it to figure out what's going on?
You'd understand better if you didn't have a crippled vomeronasal organ. It's clear that dogs get viceral pleasure out of 'smelling' stuff and we humans are clueless about what is going on. I, for one, would never want to roll in things that excite my dogs to distraction.
A tip, if dogs are much more interested than usual it may indicate there is something medical going on with your bitch. For mine it is a certainty that she has a urinary tract infection. FWIW
