I've been teaching the pups to leap up on things on command -- benches, stones, an old well, a tractor seat, downed logs. chairs, truck tailgates, etc. This tree stump was our find when out walking in the woods yesterday. For these little guys, this was a pretty high leap to a small target, and without any runway, but they hit the mark fine. They are learning to generalize pretty well. When we walk around now, they often leap up on things to see if that might earn them a treat, which it usually does.
Information on working terriers, dogs, natural history, hunting, and the environment, with occasional political commentary as I see fit. This web log is associated with the Terrierman.com web site.
