Peace on Earth, Good Will Towards Men

This video begins by counting the number of deaths during Word War 2, but by 14:18, it shows how truly blessed we are today, and by 16:35, you will be hopeful for the future.

Watch the whole thing, and then send the link to everyone you know and have them watch it with their kids.

Interesting video but I question both its data and its purpose. There has not been a long peace, there has been a distancing of war from the first world societies which generally conduct them and the third world societies which they are inflicted upon.
To quote from the Peace Pledge Union Project, "SINCE THE END of the Second World War in 1945 there have been some 250 major wars in which over 50 million people have been killed, tens of millions made homeless, and countless millions injured and bereaved."

I am not at all hopeful of the future while ever more devastating methods of death are developed and hoarded by states- nuclear, biological, chemical and robotic. The future is grim from my view.

Here's what your comments say to me Melonhead: "I have NO data and I am too lazy to look any up. This person has lots of data and is an authority on the subject, but I am going to question his motives and throw out his data because it does not square with my depressed viewpoint about the world which is bathed in front page knowledge gleaned from newspapers whose motto is 'if it bleeds, it leads.' And comment directions? I never read those because who does, right?" http://terriermandotcom.blogspot.com/2009/01/zombies-time-wasters-and-anonymous.html
