Eighty-seven-year-old retired psychology professor John Pilley and his border collie Chaser are inseparable. Mr. Pilley has been teaching Chaser like a child since she was a puppy, and today Chaser knows 1,000 words and even understands simple sentences. Mr. Pilley thinks a dog, at the top end of learning and intelligence, has the mental process of a two-year-old toddler.
