Information on working terriers, dogs, natural history, hunting, and the environment, with occasional political commentary as I see fit. This web log is associated with the Terrierman.com web site.
A lady I know was waiting at the ring's entrance to show her Jack Russell in Agility. The little dog was wiggling and barking while anxiously waiting his turn. A 'dog trainer' came up to her and told her he could break her dog of this nervous activity. She looked at him in amazement and asked how. He told her he used shock collars and it works very well on Labs and Goldens. She managed to thank him but told him she liked her pal the way he was. I cannot imagine what the fool was thinking, besides the fact we crazy JRT people kind of like the excitement. Quien Sabe.
