Austin's been a very good influence on Lucy and vice versa. She's a typical pit bull (not a large one) in that when she was young she was too much for my 5 foot 2 inch wife to handle and she can still be a little iffy around a lot of dogs with bad manners (Lucy has low tolerance and at age two and a half is still excitable). Lucy's very well-mannered in the house, and loves her crate and her heavy-duty nylon chew bones. Best trick was teaching Austin to teach her Lucy how to jump across a tennis court net on retrieve -- nothing knocks out a dog quite as much as jumping (these are not frisbee aerial leaps, but a 3-foot net). The latest to get Lucy tired is roller-blading which works like new money -- her tongue is literally hanging out of her head ;-)
