I thought that a list of ingredients were supposed to go in order of the amount? I believe that Purina and Water go AFTER Piss and Vinegar. :-)

Out of interest, do you feed a particular variety of Purina or mix it up among several of their varieties? Also, do you feed table scraps?

Great post! My dogs are made of the same ingredients.

Purina Dog Chow at the moment-- but I also feed Purina Beneful. In truth it's pretty much all the same as are all dog foods unless you are going for the really high-fat stuff that you ONLY need for sled dogs.

The trick with all dogs, I think, is run then LEAN and give them excercise. That works for people too, but I am burdened with an opposable thumb which means I can not only open the refrigerator door, but I can work a TV remote. ;-)

Your pictures are so crisp; great detail when enlarged. How big is Mountain again? She looks delicate, but she must be tough as nails. Is she the one you have the video of in the tree?

Mountain is my big dog -- 12 inches. Pearl was the the dog up the tree -- 11.5 inches. Gideon is my little man at 11 inches. Mountain is not delicate -- she's all muscle and a true smooth coat, as is Gideon. She's worked well over 500 critters. She's getting a little old now, and her chest has sprung a bit in old age, and she has lost some teeth to raccoon, roots and rocks, but any day in the field she is the most likely to find and be found in the ground. She lives to hunt and has a laser-like obsession for quarry, with a particular joy for working raccoon.

I must say you have a very impressive pack and you should be justly proud. And I agree with their lean condition. A fat dog is not a happy dog, anymore than a fat human. I knew a Lab who was so fat she's sick (wheezing and tummy trouble). I suggested walk her. Can't walk her she's sick, she's sick cause she's fat, vicious and sad circle. I am fatter than my dogs and they don't put up with that anymore. So they insist on long walks and stare at me when I eat. My JRT diet plan is working.
Many more hunts for brave Mountain and also for Gideon and Pearl. Sic em Tigers.

Debi and the TX JRTs.

I didn't mean "delicate" as a negative, but looking at her perched so prettily on the log brought that word to mind. She looks fantastically muscled, and if she's getting older, she doesn't look it. These little dogs sure can take lickin' and keep on tickin'!
